Hot ‘n’ Sweet Nutty Quinoa salad

sweet and spicy quinoa salad

More often than not when I start with the idea of making something for “the blog”, I find myself blocked with nothing flowing. I go into this state of trying too hard to make something “perfect” or be a certain way that I almost always mess it up. Continue reading

Tomato Spaghetti mama

I met these voluptuous ladies yesterday at the market and I knew I had to have them. I went home and started thinking of what to make with them. One thing for sure in my heart was that I wanted to keep them as they were and show off their curves and beauty. So here is what I made for dinner last night. I loved the ‘aliveness’ of it all the fresh and clean taste of the raw tomatoes with the basil spaghetti leaving a strong hint of nutmeg on the finish. But if you don’t like raw tomatoes my dears, please do look away now because it’s about to get juicy :-). Bonjour Bonjour and tomato love to you all. Continue reading

Seeded banana pancakes (gluten free)

One of our friends, with a very special tummy was coming over from London to stay for the weekend. He could only eat gluten-free foods, no sugar, some fruits but not all, a lil’ bit of this ‘n’ a lil’ bit of that and I was EXCITED!!. I like having weird requests like this. It translates into ‘time for creativity!’. So after much wandering around Paris scavenging ingredients, I made quinoa with the sassy sauce for dinner and quinoa balls for dessert and I remember him saying this is the first time he has eaten soo much in a while and had gotten used to just having steak and chips. He was very happy and so was I. Continue reading

Crunchy Spelt ‘n’ Oat Granola

A sea of crunch 🙂

It happened on a fine day in London when I wandered into Sainsbury’s thinking, “hmmmmm, I want me some granola or muesli”. Now this was not the first time I had bought muesli but for some reason, on that day (which I remember clearly), the price of one packet seemed ridiculous to me and I was like, whaaaat? (as if it was my first time), I’m gonna make it myself thank you very much. Continue reading

Chunky crunchy pear et chocolat

Chunky Crunchy pear et chocolate and more chocolate drizzle

Can you say the name of this recipe fast? hehehe :-).

Ok so cherries are dominating the markets at the moment and I wanted to bid farewell to the pear and remembered this recipe that I conjured up in the winter sometime before Christmas last year. The pears come out looking as beautiful as ever in this dessert and I am sure everyone at your table will be surprised as I was when I put it together. Pears are normally perfect the way they are but I felt they didn’t mind being dressed up with nuts and chocolate. Would you? Continue reading
